Popis: | We provide a compact approximation for the electron propagator in a strong magnetic field of the form B x = B y =0, B z = B z ( y ). The method developed in this work can be used to discuss some non-perturbative aspects of QED. As a simple application we consider the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model minimally coupled to an external space-dependent magnetic field. As in the uniform case, the associated gap equation admits non-trivial solutions corresponding to a massive phase. |
