Popis: Up to the present time, a surgical operation has been one of the chief elements of the treatment tactics for parathyroid diseases. In discussions on this subject, there have been only two questions: one concerning the number of tumors to be removed and the other the possibility of autotransplantation of the parathyroid tissue to prevent postoperative hypoparathyroidism (Tominaga 1999; Vatazin et al. 2002; Kаlinin et al. 2004a, b). However, the technical difficulties involved are associated not only with the performance of the conventional operation itself but also with the general anesthesia that can lead to severe complications. The other important issue is the development of recurrent hyperparathyroidism. That requires repeated surgical treatment which is extremely difficult and threatens to lead to complications due to the high possibility of an atypical location of the parathyroid gland, the scarring alterations of the tissues, and aggravation of the patient’s condition during the progression of the disease (Kаlinin et al. 2004a, b). The severe concomitant pathology negatively influences hyperparathyroidism patients, interfering frequently with the surgical treatment and hampering both the work of the anesthesiologist and the course of the postoperative period. For these reasons, surgeons must search for new alternative methods to treat hyperparathyroidism.
