Popis: This report was developed under a SBIR contract for Topic AF081-088. The overall objective of Phase I was to perform the initial research to understand the residual stress behavior around cold-worked holes that are subsequently subjected to operation load cycles. The desired end state is to define the path for developing a comprehensive analytical simulation of the service life capability in multiple applications that complement USAF fleet infrastructures. The research knowledge gained in Phase I formulated a sound approach for Phase II technology development and concurrent demonstration. The program that evolved factors in substantial USAF buy-in, which should expedite the products into benefits for the air vehicles.
