Popis: This study aimed to determine students’ critical thinking skills and creativity and the relationship between critical thinking skills and creativity of students of Biology Education study program, STKIP PGRI, West Sumatra. This study involved 70 students who enrolled in the Plant Taxonomy course. A correlational research design was employed in this study. Data were obtained using a written test containing ten essay questions. The questions consisted of 5 essay questions on critical thinking skills and five essay questions on creativity. Critical thinking skills were assessed based on five aspects, namely: apply, evaluate, use data to develop critical insights, analyze, and synthesize. Creativity was assessed based on five aspects: curiosity, fluency, originality, elaboration, and flexibility. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and continued with product-moment correlation analysis with regression analysis to determine the relationship between critical thinking and creativity. The results showed that the students achieved low scores in critical thinking and creativity. Therefore, it is necessary to empower the students to think critically and creatively to achieve better academic performance. Also, there was a positive correlation between critical thinking and creativity with a linear regression pattern of Y = 0.599 X + 14.282. Considering the strong relationship between critical thinking and creativity, learning process should be designed in a planned and continuous manner.
