Popis: In this paper, changes in the stress and strain states generated in elements fitted during the assembly process of a press fit by axial shaft insertion have been analyzed. The influence of material yielding resistance, using the von Mises criterion, on such changes has been studied. Besides, the minimum force needed for full assembling has been determined, finding that the value of such force can be lower than the one obtained theoretically, what could modify the working conditions foreseen in design. Simulations are based on the finite element method (FEM).
