Laser-induced hypotensive effect in treatment of the resistant open-angle glaucoma

Popis: A new method of treating open-angle glaucoma is proposed. The concept of non-stationary thermo-mechanical stress under laser radiation in the wavelength range 1000-1600 nm in the structural elements of the anterior segment of the eye is developed. The solution of the problem of forced vibrations of a viscoelastic medium showed that a significant part of the cavitation pores formed in the negative phase of the laser-wave is stable and does not collapse with increasing pressure. The results of clinical studies have shown the stability of the laser-induced hypotensive effect over four years of follow-up.
