Superplasticity of nitride mullite short fiber-reinforced 6061 aluminum composites

Popis: The superplastic characteristics of nitride mullite (48%Al2O3–52%SiO2) short fiber/6061Al composites were investigated. Nitride mullite short fibers consist of β-sialon on their surfaces and mullite in their interiors. Our results show that at 853 K, the composites exhibited a total elongation of 220% at a strain rate range of 6.0 × 10−3–2.0 × 10−2 s−1.
