Popis: | Thirteen patients with proven benign intracranial hypertension (BIH) were evaluated by computed tomographic scan. Using the bifrontal (where applicable) and bicaudate cerebroventriculas indices (CVI), we found 76.9% to have small ventricles. Associated findings included nonvisualization of the third ventricle and sylvian fissure in all cases with small lateral ventricles. To date no other investigators have demonstrated small ventricles with CT scan, although “slitlike” frontal homs have been described. Our findings correlate closely) with studies with pneumoencephaloghayphalography and ventriculography in which over 70% of patients were found to small ventricles. |
