We apply the dispersive approach to the reaction 4He(γ, d)d and deduce the transition matrix element, which includes final state interactions, as a solution of an Omnes-Muskhelishvili integral equation. The d-d phase shift used in this work contains an resonance due to an supposed 2+, T = 0 state in 4He at about 33 MeV of excitation energy. The cross section calculated by us reproduces quite well the experimental results in the interval 0–10 MeV of relative energy of the final deuterons thus confirming the existence of the supposed state in 4He. |
