Popis: | Over the past 30 years, minimally invasive, radiologically guided procedures to manage benign pancreatic disorders have evolved from simple percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography, which investigates the causes of obstructive jaundice, to a wide spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This transformation has followed the development of progressively more precise and sophisticated methods of pancreatic imaging with ultrasonography, CT, MR imaging, and the application of minimally invasive methods of pancreatic access. Although early radiographic efforts focused on the discrimination of benign and malignant biliary obstruction, interventional radiology has evolved to assume a multifaceted role in the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic disease. |
