Popis: | CFT base plate connection with traditional detail. Reinforcement in the encased concrete is designed so that the force transferred from the column will be resisted by the RC foundation under the base plate. Shear studs are welded on the steel tube to intensify composite action between the CFT column and the encased concrete. In each cross section twelve shear studs are arranged around the diameter at equal arc length. The encased length is three times the diameter of the steel tube. The latter is an alternative or innovative type joint in which the column is strengthened by central reinforcing bars (CRB) going through base plate into foundation concrete. A typical configuration of specimens is shown in Figure 1. The principal properties of specimens are listed in Table 1. Table 2 summarizes the measured material properties of different components of the specimens. |
