Popis: | Spent granular activated carbon (20 and 40% moisture wet basis) was regenerated at 750–850°C for 5–30 minutes in an 850W, 2.45 GHz microwave oven. Microwave-regenerated carbon generally performed better than mine-regenerated carbon. After 5 minutes of regeneration, recommended industrial performance levels (dimensionless activity > 0.7, loading capacity > 45kg Ault C, abrasion resistance factor > 75%) were reached. The loading capacity and abrasion resistance factor were unaffected by time, temperature and moisture content. Time, temperature and the interaction of time and moisture content had an effect on the activity. In general the wetter carbon performed best. |
