Aim: The main purpose of this research is to determine the effect of positive-negative emotions on mental resilience and the mediator role of perceived stress level in this effect. Methodology: 383 athletes, 252 (65.8%) male and 131 (34.2%) female, participated in the research voluntarily. The ages of the athletes range from 15 to 55. (Mean=19.41, SD=5.57). The data gathered from the research were obtained online (web-based Google form) from 40 of the 81 provinces in Turkey within the scope of convenience sampling method. The questionnaire consists of two parts. In the first part, there are questions about the demographic characteristics of the athletes. In the second part; there are questions that measure perceived stress, positive/ negative emotions and mental endurance information in sports. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to understand whether the scales were suitable for the sample group and to increase the reliability of the mediator model. In the study, the effect of negative and positive emotions on mental toughness was tested with Simple Linear Regression Analysis. The PROCESS macro for the SPSS (Model 4, Hayes, 2018) was used to analyze the model used to test mediatorship of perceived stress, in the relationship between positive and negative emotions and mental toughness.
