Popis: It is shown that energy loss can increase the lateral spread of relativistic particles passing in media through a scatter-independent mechanism. In order to describe this effect of energy loss on the lateral spread of the relativistic particles in coordinate space and velocity space, this study suggests a modification of the Fermi–Eyges equation.
