Popis: | Remote sensing is one of the cost and time-effective methods that can be used to assess change in the land, especially the land surface temperature and land cover. This study aims to estimate Makassar’s landfill surface temperature as a vital waste management monitoring parameter and the surrounding area using remote sensing. The Landsat 5 and Landsat 8 data in the years 2006, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2018, and 2020 were used in this study to see the change in the temperature and land cover. The study confirmed a significant increase in landfill surface temperature, with the highest value of 67°C found in 2018 and the minimum is 30°C in the year 2006. It also showed that compared to the surrounding area, the landfill has a higher temperature, followed by the built-up area of land cover that expanded from time to time. The accuracy of supervised classification of the land cover in 2006-2020 ranged between 58%-98%, and the Kappa coefficient ranged from 0.42 to 0.97. |
