Popis: In recent years many studies were devoted to transduction of foreign genes into hematopoietic precursor cells of different kinds of mammal [1]. There were also attempts to transduce genes into hematopoietic stromal cells, i.e., into endothelial cells [2] as well as fibroblasts [3, 4]; genes of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) and granulocyte—macrophage CSF (GM-CSF) were transducted and expressed in stromal fibroblasts [5]. The erythropoietin gene was transduced into adherent cells of mouse long-term bone marrow cultures [6]; its expression induced erythroid differentiation of hematopoietic cells in culture. The cellular source of erythropoietin (Epo) production (i.e., stromal cells proper or macrophages) was not determined. The task of transduction of foreign genes into stromal precursor cells capable of creating a hematopoietic microenvironment is therefore current.
