Popis:	We discuss the notion of classical Dirichlet forms, quadratic forms giving rise to Markov semigroups on the spaces of the form L2(X, μ), and its quantum generalisations, defined in terms of von Neumann algebras. Recent applications of quantum Dirichlet forms in the framework of locally compact quantum groups are also outlined.
