Popis: The results of the study of the dependence of breaking load of threads in a loop under different stretching conditions are reported. It is shown that the size and type of skirted surfaces markedly affect the breaking load of threads. Threads from para-aramid staple fibres suffer the maximum breaking load loss. In the case of asymmetric stretching, which best takes account of the conditions of processing and use of threads, the breaking load of the latter is substantially lower compared to the results obtained by traditional procedure.
