The spin-lattice and spin-spin proton magnetic relaxation of monomer-oligomer mixtures of unsaturated aromatic esters having methacrylate and/or vinyl end groups are studied as a function of temperature. It is shown that there are two proton sub-systems differing in energy, the population of the least mobile of these being decreased with the temperature. It is shown that there is a relation between the rate of attenuation of the transverse magnetization and the time interval between the pulses in the multi-pulse Karr-Parcel sequence, which indicates exchange between the sub-systems. The previously made assumption that associates exists, based on a study of the structure of the mixture by scattering of polarized light was thus confirmed. The life time of the associates was evaluated as ≈15 ms over the 100–130°C range. |
