This work is devoted to the history of the development of Samarkand as one of the important centers of Central Asia. Tasks that were solved during the study: 1. identify the main milestones in the history of the development of Samarkand; 2. analyze the role of Samarkand in the Russian Empire; 3. formulate the geopolitical significance of Samarkand for the Russian Empire in Central Asia; 4. determine the financial and economic significance of Russian Samarkand. The heyday and rebirth of Samarkand took place in the context of the change of the ruling dynasties of the Tahirids, Samanids, Karakhanids, Ghaznavids, Seljuks, black Chinese and Khorezmshahs. Over time, Samarkand became one of the largest shopping centers on the Great Silk Road. Some freedoms received by Samarkand after joining the Russian Empire contributed to the growth of the Samarkand economy. Agriculture, trade, construction and irrigation, as well as crafts and culture began to develop. All this led to the fact that at the beginning of the 20th century it turned into a fully cultural city with European stone buildings. |
