Lead substitution in flux grown single crystal rare earth orthoferrites

Popis:	A method is given for the growth of single crystal yttrium and rare earth orthoferrites using PbO(B2O3)x as a flux. Quantitative chemical analysis demonstrates that lead substitutes for the rare earths in these compounds, probably by a compensation mechanism involving Pb+2 and Fe+4.
