Popis:	Regional cerebral blood flow measurement (rCBF) is one of the best objective methods of selecting patients suitable for the ECA-ICA operation, as well as of assessing the postoperative results of anastomotic surgery.3 Unfortunately, the resulting changes in skull blood flow sometimes associated with marked increases in caliber of the ECA make the assessment of underlying cerebral circulation difficult when the shunt vessel is injected, since extracranial and intracranial tissues receive the xenon.
