Popis: In general, systems are considered to consist of elements, as well as the interrelationships between these elements and the whole. This model can be applied to the system at virtually every level; each of the elements can be considered systems and, in turn, be broken down into a system of subelements. The boundaries between the system and its environment can be defined more or less arbitrarily, depending on the question of interest or focus of analysis. The system boundary may or may not be physically observable. The environment of a system is understood to be those elements or systems that exist outside the designated boundaries. Open systems consist of elements or systems that interact with these outside elements or systems, whereas closed systems do not.
