Popis: Most patients with primary obstructive megaureter (POM) only need conservative management since functional obstruction resolves spontaneously during the first months of life without renal function impairment or appearance of symptoms [1]. Surgical treatment is then reserved for those cases that develop progressive hydro-ureteronephrosis with urinary tract infections (UTI) and/or renal loss of function. However, its management and surgical options remain controversial. Ureteral reimplantation with or without ureteral tapering has been considered the gold-standard procedure for these patients, but in small infants, reimplantation of a huge ureter is challenging and leads to potential complications [2].
