Popis:	As understanding of the strategic control of lactation advances, it becomes increasingly clear that the lactational strategy of each mammalian species reflects the requirements of that species in close and complex ways. In this review, we choose two species—the human being and the domestic pig—in order to illustrate this with new findings concerning their lactational strategies. This comparison serves not only to depict the complexity of lactational strategies but also to demonstrate the differences that occur between two species with different lactational needs.
