Intravascular artery prosthetics in atherosclerotic lesion is one of the most frequently performed procedures in cardiovascular surgery to date. However, after the stent implantation a localized inflammatory reaction develops in the vascular wall that can lead to intimal hyperplasia and the development of restenosis. Various methods of stent surface treatment are used to increase biocompatibility and reduce the allergic effect of the stent material on the body in order to increase the likelihood of postoperative complications. In this research we investigated the effect of modified stents made of nitinol and treated with plasma-immersion ionic surface processing with silicon on the specific products (mediators of inflammation) release activation from peripheral blood cells in mini-pigs. |
