Refractive index measurements in CH3I in the frequency region 50–310 GHz

Popis: | Precise refractive index measurements for CH3I at 298 K have been carried out for frequencies from 50 to 310 GHz. These, when combined with earlier results allowed the determination of complex permittivity of CH3I over the whole 0-THz region. It was shown that in the complex plane the experimental data are well fitted by the confined rotator model except the region of 102 GHz. This is analogous to the case of CH3Cl where in the same frequency region a new absorption process was observed although for CH3I such effects appear to be considerably smaller. |
