Popis: | The hardware implementation of a low power fuzzy control system for regulating the blood glucose level is suggested. The controller is designed in VHDL, synthesized for an Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and then compared to the state of art FPGA implementation. Although, the implementation on FPGA promises quick delivery to market with a high flexibility to design changes, it consumes higher power if compared to ASIC implementation. The simulation results show that compared to the implementation on FPGA, the suggested ASIC can have more than 2 orders of magnitude decrease in leakage power consumption. However, both can be included in a robust and reliable closed loop health monitoring system. |
