A novel vehicle velocity measurement system based on laser ranging sensors

Popis: Based on the laser ranging sensors, a novel vehicle velocity measurement system with high precision is proposed, which can be used to evaluate the performance of vehicle velocity measuring devices. High frequency laser ranging sensors of fixed-distance (S) are installed perpendicular to the road corresponding to the center of the lanes to catch the passing of the vehicles. By detecting the time interval (t) between the different sensors, we can get the vehicle speed (V = S/t). Clock source with 10MHz sine wave and CPLDs are applied to ensure the time-measuring accuracy.
