Some ideas of generalized Peierls as well generalized spin-Peierls (s-P) transitions in conjugated (quasi) 1D—polymers are discussed. ESR, IR and microwave photoconductivity studies on oriented carbynoid samples prepared by chemical dehydrofluorination of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) agreed rather well with the assuption of a room temperature generalized S-P system. Concepts of s-P solitons and s-P soliton lattice formation in carbynoid films at room temperature are proposed and discussed. |
