Popis: Technology has become increasingly important in the assessment and treatment of high-incidence disorders such as learning disabilities (LDs) and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. The use of computer and other assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, voice recognition, biofeedback, virtual environments, etc.) has developed much faster than the research that demonstrates the efficacy of these various methods. We discuss some of these technologies as they are applied to assessment, classroom instruction, cognitive and executive functioning, and test accommodations. We also review the research findings on specific technologies, and note the advantages, limitations, and efficacy of the various technologies. We conclude with a plea for more research in this rapidly expanding area.
