Popis: | In the present paper, we investigated the possibility of enhancing anticorrosion properties of polypyrrole (PPy) films obtained electrochemically on nickel substrate. The oxidation of pyrrole monomer has been achieved in aqueous medium containing sodium salicylate as supporting electrolyte using cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic methods. Several techniques such as Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and X-ray photoelectron and (XPS) spectroscopies were carried out for vibrational and elemental characterization of the elaborated films. The XPS analysis confirm the absence of any peaks related to Ni2+ anion bound to the polymer chain, hence, the absence of any complex formed between Ni (II) and PPy. In addition, the adherence of the films, evaluated by the standard sellotape test, reached 96%. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and anodic polarization curves showed that the coating exhibits an important anodic protection behavior. |
