Popis: Robinson's model of the electron formulated in terms of classical field theory with the gravitational and the electrostatic fields represented as a unified complex potential is reconsidered. We show that this unified potential is related to a particle of renormalized complex mass Z0 = m0±im'0 with the real part representing the mass of an electron (positron) and the imaginary part m'0 = ±α1/2mP representing the charge ±e. Comparison is made with Post's electromagnetic model and a quantum model of charged particles formulated in Kaluza-Klein space.
