Monitoring of small pits dug by contractors to investigate underground lighting defects and insert a watering point for grassed areas. In the watering point pit archaeological deposits were found prompting a very small archaeological excavation and more detailed recording. A fragment of wall was excavated; it was undated but was identified with a structure found on a plan of 1617 and considered most likely to be of medieval date. |
