Popis: Social work practices can reveal the ideology of social work both as regards the structurisation of interaction and the principal administrative directions, as is pointed out by Nigel Parton and Mimi Ajzenstadt. In showing how encounters produce different versions of clients and social workers it simultaneously shows that choices made in encounter situations have a practical significance. Constructionist-oriented research into social work practices emphasises the facts that practices – both of social work and of research – interpret social reality and that the use of language is a basic element. Parallel to clients and social workers, research and science are central constructors of social work. In particular, a number of social work researchers criticised the constructionist approach for concentrating on work practices and face-to-face interaction, thus leaving aside a study of the societal conditions of the work. Social work always requires a minimum of two actors.
