Contribution of transtion radiation generated on dust particles to the cosmic X rays

Popis: | It is shown, through consideration of the possible contribution of X-ray transition radiation generated by particles to cosmic X-rays, that the transition X-ray intensity may significantly exceed bremsstrahlung intensity at energies lower than about 5 keV. The contribution of the transition X-rays to the diffuse X-ray background and to compact X-ray source radiation is not significant, and the estimates presented show that the X-ray transition radiation intensity from such extended objects as the Galaxy's giant molecular clouds is comparable to the observed intensity. |
