This article analyzes the relationship between space and memory in Juan Gabriel Vasquez’s Los informantes and Jorge Franco’s El mundo de afuera. Belonging to the analysis of space in literature —from those of Bakhtin and Bachelard and even the most recent of Westphal and Collot— the aim of this reflection is to demonstrate how the two novels allow an intimate dialogue with certain moments of Colombia’s past, establishing a contrast between here and there, and using a bachelardian dialectic between the inside and the outside. |
