The United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Balloon Program Office (BPO) continues to support the scientific community by providing enhanced capabilities and reliable suborbital platforms. The Balloon Program provides low-cost, quick response near space access in support of conducting cutting edge science investigations. In addition to being a platform for technology developments, the NASA Balloon Program provides an excellent training ground for the next generation of NASA scientists and engineers. This paper presents an overview of the key highlights over the past two years including campaigns, new capabilities, development efforts and upcoming plans that position the Program for the future. |
