Three dimensional (3D) printed prostheses have emerging trends in recent years. They become popular with their cost-effective and easy to build structures which provided by the developments of the additive manufacturing technology. By these advancements, many open-source prosthetic hand models started to appear in the market. However, some of them are not suitable for all kinds of patients yet. So, a good deal of designs has failed to meet all of the user’s physical needs which might cause the device not being used by the patients. In this paper, it is tried to do a parametric design and produce a mechanical prosthesis with a simple mechanical design that can be adapted easily to each patient. For this purpose, the information about a planar four-link mechanism, design, and analysis steps of the mechanism and how it can be improved in the future has been discussed. |
