Popis: Femtosecond laser recording of birefringent subwavelength nanogratings in the bulk of dielectrics has been studied for almost two decades [1, 2], promising a variety of interesting applications in the field of polarizing macrooptics [3]. The formation of subwavelength nanogratings in a plane perpendicular to the optical axis of laser radiation remained unexplained for a long time, and only in recent years have the scattering processes been considered backward incident ultrashort laser pulses on the cumulative multipulse damage of the optical homogeneity of dielectrics and the interference of the incident and scattered radiation. At the same time, the very formation of subwavelength nanogratings as a result of nanoscale transport of chemical components of glass (mainly oxygen) and the corresponding anisotropic periodic modulation of the refractive index. On the other hand, recently, for various processes of micro- and nanomodification of matter in the bulk of dielectrics, ultrashort laser pulses of longer - subpicosecond and picosecond duration have become more widely used
