Introducing a flexible and Y-shaped tricarboxylic acid linker into functional complex: Photocatalytic dye degradation

Popis: A new complex, namely, [Cu2(HL)2(H2O)2(phen)2]·H2O (H3L=1,3,5-tris(4-carbonylphenyloxy)benzene, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) (1) was solvothermally prepared and characterized. 1 exhibited a three-dimensional supramolecular network built by 0D metallacycle through hydrogen-bonding and π–π interactions. The photocatalytic degradation feature of 1 was studied. The results declared 1 has photocatalytic activities with 46.87%, 10.17% and 22.86% for methylene blue, methylene orange and Rhodamine B after 100 min, respectively. The plausible mechanism of catalytic degradation toward MB in the presence of 1 was proposed using the trapping method and LC-MS studies.
