Popis: | One way to set priorities is to base decisions on the magnitude of risk. This paper describes the development of a method for risk assessment of errors and its application to railroad track maintenance. This method evaluates what kind of errors lead to what kind of accidents in terms of seriousness of harm in what situation and how often harm results. A risk management support method was also designed to prioritize measures to stop error-inducing factors. Findings from the track maintenance application show that the relationships between error patterns and the inducing factors change with the nature of the error pattern or conditions in the workplace. The risk of error occurrence is also latent in indirect factors such as preparatory work. |
