Popis: This paper presents a compact design of affordable multi-purpose computer numerical control (CNC) laser engraver. The CNC machines can be used in a variety of applications in industry like supporting the development of new products and providing an excellent means to expose students to standardized industrial control procedures. It also can offer several opportunities to effectively supplement the teaching of control systems and instrumentation. Causing the increase of technology to cope with customer’s needs, the implementation of the CNC system becomes complex and asks a large amount of cost in the application of industries and colleges. In this paper, a compact and cheap cost CNC integrated with Laser Engraver and 2D Plotter are introduced to reduce complexity, cost, and manpower. This study proposes a new technology that can be used to design and develop a Computer Numeric Controlled Laser Engraver and 2D Plotter in a compact system. The specialty of this system is that the users will change the tool easily whenever they want to perform many operations such as engraving an object and also produce 2D drawings for a particular object in different types of sheets. It is a commercially viable, multi-functional, low power consumption, user-friendly, compact design, and costeffective machine. An experimental study backed by the setup requirements is presented to determine the work ability of the proposed system.
