Popis: Cholesteatoma verum within the cranial cavity is rare, and this disease in the mastoid, that is, cholesteatoma without a history or a sign of aural infection, is even rarer. REPORT OF A CASE J. K., a white man aged 25, an American, was referred to one of us (M. D. F.) by Dr. M. A. Weitz for neurologic examination on April 23, 1937. The story was as follows: About two months previously a friend of the patient had called his attention to the fact that his face "seemed crooked." The patient then noted that he could not move the right side of his face. He was advised that the condition was Bell's palsy and that it would clear up in time. However, as the weeks went by he could see no improvement in the facial movement, and he therefore consulted Dr. Weitz. The history further revealed that in February 1936
