Popis: | A method has been developed to measure the direct tensile strength of glassfibre strands in a cement environment. Changes in the strength of strands of Cem-FIL A.R. glassfibre in Portland Cement have been accelerated by ageing in hot water at several temperatures and the temperature dependence determined. Similar accelerated ageing has been carried out with GRC composites and the results compared with strength changes in material exposed to natural weathering in a variety of climates. Predictions are given for expected strengths of Cem-FIL GRC composites over a hundred (or more) years. |
