Popis: | The following article analyzes and studies the impact of traffic variability on the efficiency of WPQS (Weighted Priority Queuing System). Net models have been designed and tested taking into account the architecture supporting data transmission with different priorities. Priority queue models consisting of three different priority queues were examined. In order to examine the significant qualitative features of the studied models, TPN (Temporal Petri Nets) models were used. All performance features of the tested systems shown in the following article were obtained by simulating discrete events of TPN models. The use of simulation tools by using TPN aimed at verification of traffic shaping mechanisms with selected queuing algorithms. The obtained results are a perfect illustration of efficiency of the tested WPQS. The research has shown that TPN models can be effectively used in modeling and analyzing the performance of queuing systems. |
