Popis:	An improved procedure for the extraction, separation, and purification of colchicine from plant tissue is presented. The method makes use of a simple separation and purification of colchicine by adsorption on two different chromatographic columns, eluting these with different solvents and determining the purified alkaloid colori-metrically.
