Popis: | Female NZB/W hybrid mice spontaneously develop a disease that resembles human systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) [1]. Briefly, by 4 months of age these mice develop anti-DNA antibodies; by 10 months of age they develop anti-red-blood cell (RBC) antibodies and a systemic immune complex (IC) disease with glomerulonephritis (GN) and proteinuria, and by 12 months of age they have a predictable course to chronic renal failure with about 50% mortality. |
