VLLE of binary aqueous systems containing 2-butanol, isobutanol, or tert-amyl alcohol

Popis: Isothermal vapor-liquid-liquid equilibrium (VLLE) data were measured for water + 2-butanol, water + isobutanol, and water + tert-amyl alcohol at temperatures from 323.12 K to 373.16 K. A modified static-type apparatus equipped with a visual cell was used in the present study. The experimental results confirm that homogeneous azeotrope forms in water + 2-butanol and heterogeneous azeotrope forms in water + isobutanol and in water + tert-amyl alcohol. The VLLE data of the investigated binary systems were correlated well with the NRTL and the UNIQUAC models.
