The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of intervention based on extended theory of planned behavior(TPB) on the behavior toward physical activity, intention, action planning, attitude, perceived behavioral control belief based construct and also examine the mediation effect of intention, action planning, perceived behavioral control between intervention and behavior. Participants were 64 undergraduate students who enrolled in a health education class. TPB constructs were assessed using a questionnaire before(T1), after(T2), 10 weeks after(T3) intervention. Intervention was implemented twice a week for 75 minutes for 11 weeks. 2x2 mixed ANOVA, One way ANOVA, and Mediation Analysis were conducted. The results were as follows. First, intention to engage physical activity improved after intervention and also behavior, physical activity level of the participants, increased across the times. However, the other TPB constructs appeared to be non-significant. Second, no variables mediated the effect of intervention on the behavior. Implication and suggestions for the future study is provided in the article. |
